TEHRAN, Mar. 28 (MNA) – In a phone conversation after the victory of Syrians over terrorists in ancient city of Palmyra, Iran's President Rouhani and Russian President Putin agreed to bolster cooperation to secure stability in Syria.

Iranian President Hassan Rouhani and his Russian counterpart Vladimir Putin had a phone conversation on Monday according to the official website of Iran's Presidential office.

During the talk, President Putin recounted the latest words he exchanged with his American counterpart Barack Obama over the regional issues and the case of Syria.

The same source recounts that President Rouhani thanked Mr. Putin for the call and the report and reiterated that more cooperation and coordination between Tehran and Moscow contributes to peace and stability in Syria.

Rouhani also maintained that ceasefire is necessary to be preserved simultaneously with keeping talks between oppositions.

The Iranian President also restated that terrorists should be kept out of the table of talks and not allowed to disrupt the course of negotiations.

He also voiced satisfaction over the latest victories and urged for more international measure in controlling borders and cutting arm supplies to terrorists to ensure peace in Syria.

The Islamic Republic of Iran welcomes the development of bilateral ties with the Russian Federation, said Rouhani referring to boosting relations between Tehran and Moscow.
